Due to impending winter weather, all City facilities, including rec centers, libraries, The Slover, and Norfolk Animal Care Center, will be closed on Saturday, Jan. 11. This also includes Nauticus, Virginia Zoo, MacArthur Memorial, and Norfolk Botanical Garden.
Anyone who ventures out is urged to allow extra time and use caution. Please stay off the roads whenever possible so our crews can continue their efforts.
Street parking is removed downtown along Boush Street, Granby Street, and Main Street from 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, until 9 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 12, to allow plowing operations. Vehicles in these areas will be ticketed/towed. Should conditions be better than anticipated, removals may be lifted earlier.
To accommodate parking needs, the York Street Garage is now open for residents and businesses downtown and will remain open until 9 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 13.
Norfolk Cares is available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 11. Residents are advised to submit requests to Norfolk Cares via mobile app, online at www.mynorfolk.org, or by calling (757) 664-6510. Please only call 911 in case of emergency.

If you encounter someone in need of shelter, contact the police non-emergency line at (757) 441-5610. The police department will work with CSB and our partners to get them shelter.
