I am deeply concerned by today’s shooting at the edge of Norview High School property, near Sewells Point and Widgeon roads. According to updates provided to City Council, two 16-year-old young men were transported to the hospital, one with life-threatening injuries.

My prayers are with both young men, their families, and everyone affected by this violence. For students, families, educators, and neighbors, an incident like this can leave fear and uncertainty long after the school day ends.

Over the past several hours, I have been reviewing updates from City leadership to better understand what occurred and ensure the information I share is accurate. The investigation remains ongoing, and many questions remain unanswered.

I appreciate the response of our police, emergency personnel, and school staff. As more information becomes available, I will seek clarity on the circumstances of this incident and the support available to affected students and families.
